Dementia Care

Compassionate support focusing on familiar routines, safety and reassurance, maintaining independence and person-centred approaches.

About this service

Living with dementia presents unique challenges — for the individual and their family alike. At Open Heart Care, our dementia care is built on a person-centred philosophy: understanding the individual's life history, preferences and personality to deliver care that feels familiar, reassuring and meaningful, even as needs change over time.

Our carers receive specialist dementia training and are skilled in communication techniques that reduce anxiety, de-escalate difficult moments and build trust with those who may struggle to articulate their needs. We work hard to maintain consistent carer relationships, as familiarity and routine are enormously beneficial for people living with dementia.

We work closely with families, Admiral Nurses and community memory teams, keeping communication open so that care evolves as the condition progresses. Our goal is always to maximise quality of life and support independence for as long as it is safely possible.
